Skyridge Glamping is one of those places we make time for whenever we can. We are there often and still get excited about waking up, opening the blinds, and seeing the mountains from our cabin. Some trips we want to go out and explore. Other times we're perfectly happy having a slow morning, going to the sauna, and seeing what wildlife comes through while sitting outside.

We love the idea of mountain bathing. For us, that’s getting outside and spending enough time in the mountains to actually take them in. At Skyridge, you can spend the day out in Kananaskis or stay close to your cabin and enjoy the views. The private micro-cabins have their own bathrooms, and the on-site spa has saunas and cold-water bucket therapy. It’s an adults-only property, with select pet-friendly cabins if you’re bringing your dog. 

We're particular about where we stay when we travel. We care about the location, the comfort of the room, and whether we'd actually want to spend time there once I’ve checked in. At Skyridge, we do. If you’re staying at Skyridge and asking us what we'd do while you’re there, We would tell you to book a ride at Boundary Ranch. It’s about five minutes away, and if you ask us, horseback is the best way to see the Canadian Rockies. 

We love being able to look around, take in the views, and experience the mountains at the pace of the horse. It feels completely different from seeing them through a car window or hiking!

Boundary Ranch offers guided trail rides in Kananaskis during its riding season. If it’s your first time on a horse, tell the ranch when you book so they can help you choose a ride that suits your experience. A morning ride followed by an afternoon at Skyridge is pretty close to our ideal day in the Canadian Rockies.
